Marsden Train Station
[masked] Update at bottom.
Eight miles (13km) and 1 263 ft (385m) of ascent so more challenging than our usual walks. We will need to go at a reasonable pace (ie not slow) so please only sign up if you are sure you will be able to keep up.
Not a great one for dogs as the majority of the walk is on National Trust Marsden Moor Estate land and dogs need to be on lead between March and July.
The ground was as dry as I've ever known it yesterday [masked]) but will get boggy in places if we get much rain.
Update from recce on the 22nd (thanks Sue and Sarah). Very blowy up on the tops which gave an added challenge. One steep climb (Yes even I was puffing in spite of my organiser super fitness) that's fairly short and a couple of steady but long ascents. Please please do not sign up to this walk unless you're confident you can cope with the distance and the hills.
On the bright side, Sue's app said we burned 900 calories. Woo hoo. That's a fair amount of chocolate right there.
Still not that muddy either.
