I only managed a 'half recce' on Sunday 16 Feb.... (not because it was a hard walk or longer than I thought, but because of the slow coaches I'd dragged along with me..).....The pub is happy for us all to pile in after the walk and they also allow dogs as well....... I did try to convince him we wouldn't drive out the locals.
Quite a leisurely 6-7 mile circular walk starting in Netherton. We'll head up to South Crosland then across to Beaumont Park where we can stop for a lunch break. We then go back down to Armitage Bridge and up through Honley woods skirting both Honley and Netherton. We cut across fields towards Healey House (subject to the cows not being back in the field for Springtime..!!) and back round to the pub for a well deserved pint.
There are no 'big' hills to contend with and plenty of views. There is some country road walking but not a great deal. Dogs are welcome.
The car park at the pub is small but there are plenty of side roads nearby. I will double check whether the pub is happy for us to all pile in there and if it is also dog friendly.
