Played 2nd Edition AD&D, with a great group, years ago. Three of us are back together and looking to get into 3.5 or 4.0 - interested in finding a DM with a well rounded game (storytelling/humour/challenging) and preferably one or two more players.
Getting a group together - need a (well rounded) DM and preferably one or two more players. The three of us tend to play thief/bard (myself), a paladin, and a wizard. I/we'd be interested in joining an already established group as well.
Never played 3/3.5 or 4, but have the books, and we're ready to try it out.
My favourite part of DnD would have to be when the DM introduces a serious plot twist to throw the standard hack'n'slash storyline out the window - solving a puzzle or a mystery always makes a better story. Also, attempting feats of daring in battle.
Last time I/we played would have been back around 1997... we had been avid players before then, playing at least once a week well into the wee hours of the morning... in terms of age I'm 35, and my mates are 34 and 32.
Pretty damn good if you ask me. Many amazing people, and a great way to socialise, be entertained, and give your mind a workout. If you haven't played before, do it (or even come along to a session just to see what its about).
A specialty priest is cool, the game world is a bitsa this and that, the county that Brall is in is more of a forgotten realms flavour. Only 3 rules 1 your god is goody, 2 you have to bring this compendium so I can get an idea of you god and 3 your pc is goodly. As a dm I like to have the monopoly on evil.
Sorry for late reply, Brall dm here, trying to juggle a move and d&d. A priest is good if you could make him 4th that might be better,
Yes please. I would like Priest Compendiums. :)
Greetings! There are 4 or 5 of us so far for this weekends crawl at Strathpine. You are welcome to meet up with us. In December we will do a weekday crawl at Wynnum if you have a free day coming up in December, suggest a date in meetup. Will get onto adding thrift store locations to our lists eventually. Wend
Welcome to the Brisbane Book Club. We look forward to sharing books and ideas with you. Cheers :-)
Greetings! Ravenloft would be great. Would love to go through some of the ADND 2nd ed Ravenloft modules, they look fantastic. I have played some Gothic Earth style ADND using the Masque of the Red Death boxed set as the basis when it came to character creation, weapons, etc but it was run as a real-world 1890s adventure set in London. The characters were very realistic and the stories were things straight out of B grade movies like Loup Garou, Flesh Golem, Zombi, Voodoo Curses etc.
I'd really like to join a set group of people instead of doing something casual. Is that the vibe you want to go for?
Hi David. I'm in Indooroopilly, and yes, i am keen to play some 2nd edish D&D. i am willing to travel for the right group.
Nerds...the both of you! Enjoyed our game session right up until the end scenario...yikes! =)
Haha.. i liked reading about your thief being attacked by pirates. Good times. We have a few different games running at the moment, Basic DND, 2nd ed hosted by Marco and 2nd ed hosted by Michael as well as Rifts game one of our players wants to try out on us. You're welcome to come and go as you like or steal our (willing) players for your own campaign if you want to organise one closer to home. Thanks, Wend
