Trying to expand my library with contemporary female writers. I love Zoe Heller, Sarah Waters, Arundhati Roy, Isabel Allende, Julia Alvarez....but I feel this is not enough and I've missed quite a few monumental books written in the past few years. Favourite writers include E.M Forster, Henry James, Thomas Hardy, Kurt Vonnegut. At the moment I'm reading 'In the Time of Butterflies' by Julia Alvarez which I love. One of my all time favourite books, perhaps, actually, my favourite is 'A Confederacy of Dunces' by John Kennedy Toole. I'm not a fan of Martin Amis or Philip Roth....can't bear Jane Austin. Anyway, I'd love to meet up and chat books in a non-academic, non-wanky environment. Talking for the love of talking about books. Looking forward to seeing you!
