Hi all, we seem to have a Quorum for this outdoor adventure...and I have just worked out how to add more info...use a PC not an IPad!
The Sugar Loaf is an iconic mountain-in-miniature, with the additional joy of fantastic views from the Brecons down to the Severn, and easy walking paths all around.
This is a satisfying but fairly easy walk of about 6 miles through some woodland but mainly on open ground, with just one steep pull up to the summit.
Abergavenny is best reached by taking the M4 to Newport then the A449 to Raglan and the A40 to Abergavenny. The car park and tourist office is unmissable (!) just as you come into the town centre. Meet at 10.30 at the entrance to the tourist centre, and we'll pile into as few cars as possible, as the car park we are heading for is pretty small.
If we walk fast enough, we could get back in time to reward ourselves with an award-winning cream tea at the Angel Hotel :-)
I can take 2 other folk from Bristol if you message me.
