This is a very informal meditation technique, designed to allow you, no matter what your experience, to "Start where you are".
The form of meditation that I teach is based on Tibetan Buddhist meditation, using both mindfullness and single pointed meditation, along with breathing, chakra work, and movement. Since I am fascinated with consciousness and the brain, I try to demystify some of how we operate mentally through what I have learned about neuroscience,
I have been a meditation student for over twenty years, and teaching since 2005. I am also a Certified Hypnotherapist and Therapeutic Imagery Facilitator. In my life I have found that the power of the mind and the cultivation of the quiet mind leads to greater happiness, less stress and anxiety, and a greater sense of integration of the self.
Meditation is held Mondays and Wednesdays from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm and Sundays from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. We will take a short break about an hour into the class and there will be refreshments, if you would like to bring somethin, please feel free! There is an opportunity to discuss your experience with each meditation if you so choose.
The door will be open 15 minutes before the start time so just enter and remove your shoes. If you come in after the class has started don't worry, just enter quietly and join us.
I am requesting a voluntary anonymous donation of $10.00 per class, payable at the door. If that is a problem for you don't let it stop from joining us.
I hope that you will come and explore the benefits and uses of various meditation techniques. I have some cushions and pillows, but please feel free to bring whatever you need to be as comfortable as possible.
If there is a meetup that you would like to attend, but it doesn't look like anyone has RSVP'd, don't let that dissuade you, most of the time at least 4 or 5 people show up without an RSVP.
