Exhibit with the AMG and/or Attend the WHODAT Festival!

The Alamance Makers Guild is going to exhibit at the 2014 WHODAT Festival! There are four ways you can be involved!

* Help us out at our exhibit... spend some time showing off projects and talking to the public about the Maker Movement, the Alamance Makers Guild, and the Burlington Mini Maker Faire. (just like we do at 4th Friday or other outdoor exhibits about our group... the more folks that rotate through the more time everyone will have to enjoy the rest of the show) * Register to speak and teach about a specific skill at one of their skill share workshops. (contact Ben to register for a set time session... they are very open and flexible but this must be formalized, especially if it is going to get into the program) * Attend the WHODAT Festival as a regular attendee. The event is free, however there is a $15-$30 suggested donation at the door to support the bands and artists who perform at the day-long event.... it is also possible to camp out and spend the night at the venue. * Volunteer to help out at the WHODAT festival... setup, teardown, and other help at the event. More info about WHODAT
{from the WHODAT facebook event...}
"The third annual WhoDat Festival is a volunteer-run, non-commercial celebration of the diversity of NC artists and musicians. Join us at Doodad Farm, a beautiful outdoor community venue just 10 minutes east of downtown.

The festival schedule features six standout local bands, as well as up and coming acoustic artists performing on Doodad’s new satellite stage.

WhoDat is extremely open for participation with open mics, skill shares, collaborative art projects, food trucks, games, and camping on Saturday night!"

Setup (for exhibitors) starts at 11:00am
The show opens to the public at 12:00 noon
Bands will play until 1:00am
Camping on site available through Sunday morning.
Our AMG exhibit will run from 12:00 noon through the early evening (exact end time will depend upon how many volunteers we have for the event, and how late folks want to stay, also upon crowd reception) We will have at least two 10x10 tents covering tables, and should have access to electricity to run our exhibit. (we'll bring fans and home-made air conditioners to keep the booth area pleasant) Folks can spend some time at our exhibit talking to the public and showing off their own projects, and can also spend some time enjoying the music and the rest of the festival. Please RSVP and indicate how you would like to participate (i.e. volunteer at our exhibit, schedule your own skills workshop session, just attend for fun, or volunteer to help out at the event). In talking to Riley (one of the event organizers) this festival has the same spirit as the Burlington Mini Maker Faire, with a slightly different focus (more music and food) but they do share the same love of hands-on, teaching skills, and bringing back lost arts. I think this is a great opportunity to support a like-minded group, and to connect with more makers throughout the area!

Whether you can attend/help or not, please share this event with your friends and help this event grow! Its possible to tour the event venue on either Saturday before the event. I plan to go out there to scout out our spot and work out logistics. I'll contact exhibitors at some point closer to the event so we can coordinate exhibit details. Would like to have lots of interactive stuff going on. (another chance to do the Make-n-Take for example). Thanks to Chris Howell for bringing this great opportunity up to the Alamance Makers Guild! Contact me (Ben) with any questions or comments.
[masked] Thanks and hope to see as many of you there as possible!
