Burlington Mini Maker Faire

Maker Faire is coming to Burlington!

The members of the Alamance Makers Guild are bringing Maker Faire to Burlington!
We'll be at Holly Hill Mall and Business Center from 10:00am till 9:00pm on Saturday April 28th to display projects, tend to interactive exhibits, show off artwork, and interact with the public.  Its a celebration of "making" the act of making things yourself and together, and a creative community sharing their time, skills, talents, and knowledge.

This is a family friendly event, bring the whole family.  Lots of educational value for kids!

Learn more about this event at our website:

If you'd like to exhibit your own projects with us (or if you'd like to volunteer your time to help us with this event) please contact us at [masked] (check out the "makers" tab on the website for more information).  {If you are exhibiting with us, we'll be setting up the night before on the 27th and from 8:00am till 10:00am on the 28th}

This event is being produced by Harris Educational with the help of sponsors from our community, our makers, and others from the Maker Movement.  We'll be launching a Kickstarter soon to help cover some of our costs (stay tuned for details)

Our three goals for this Maker Faire:

1) Come together and work together as a community of makers to bring our projects and exhibits to the public of Alamance County and the Piedmont/Triad of North Carolina.
2) Increase our visibility and public awareness of the Alamance Makers Guild and use our interactions with people to gauge the feasibility of opening a Maker Space here in Alamance County.
3) Promote the BIG Maker Faire in Raleigh "Maker Faire NC" on June 18th 2012

Please share this event with your friends, family, and neighbors.  We'll be promoting the event in various ways but are relying upon word-of-mouth to get the word out!

Looking forward to seeing everyone at this event!
Stay tuned for more details and announcements.

    This was well organized. The diversity of offerings was well appreciated by visitors. Although we did not get to share all that much with one another, I think this event will serve as a good bonding experience for our guild.

    What and awesome experience, Ben and the almanace makers guild did a great job setting this up and making it run so smoothly. We had a ton of people come by our table, and I'm really looking forward to the next one!!

    Ben did a great job organizing and marketing the fair. We need to figure out how to reimburse him for his monetary expenses.

    We had a lot of interested individuals visit our table. Actually had an opportunity to speak one on one with some of the other club members about their hobbies and interests too. Never did get to see the Tesla coil fired up. Did learn how to solder too! Wish the folks who had the interactive bottle cap mural had been there to explain it to folks who were walking by, there was no explanation or guidance. Loved the Flying Fox, wish someone had been there to share what it was about... Liked have a member of TEVA there as well., Dr. Jack is a very knowledgeable individual.
