Yes: I make Science Kits that are sold to schools, individuals, and hobbyists. I also recently built a new PC using my CNC router, and always get my hands dirty making things, fixing things, and learning how things work.
Yes! Thats why I created this group.
I'm interested in creating and running the space, and hope to find both others who would join with me to create such a space, as well as those who might want to be members and who might want to join and use the space.
CNC Routing, Digital Fabrication, Electronics, Computer Skills, Linux, some programming, Educational Design, Training, Social Media, Computer Building, Mechanics, and more.
HI I'm Ben Harris and I just created the Burlington Makers Meetup Group to find other Makers in Alamance Co. NC. I'm a maker, and am involved in education, electronics, CNC, Digital Fabrication, Educational Design, Science Kits, social media.
I'm pleased with how our group is growing. We started off with three or four people per meeting and are now up to 12 or more, with serious folks, talented local artists, and interesting "lightning talks" and show-n-tell of projects. We've got a facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/AlmanaceMakersGuild), are on twitter, and are slowly but surely growing by word of mouth with very enthusiastic responses from people. Looking forward to what the future holds!
