Are you a maker? If so what kinds of things have you made?

I used to race competitively as a way of gaging the effectiveness of modifications I designed and fabricated. Now I mostly tinker with a conversion of a riding mower to full electric power and I make and sell steampunk props.

Are you interested in the idea of a maker space for Burlington/Alamance County?

No, I am located on the farside of Greensboro, so I would be unlikely to make use of this.

Would you be interested in joining a space? partnering to create the space? Spreading the word?

What skills, knowledge, tools, or ideas can you share?

I am an old school mechanical engineer with 35 years experience. I have seen a lot of things that did and did not work. I am a bit of a student of historical technology as a result of my fascination with the steampunk genre.

I work in Equipment Research and Design for a major manufacturer of airbags, seatbelts, steering wheels, etc. After hours I tinker and build, mostly steampunk props. I enjoy sci-fi conventions and technology. See/enganear
