Great meeting. Poor Spencer and Martin - there was so much contradictory advice that I'm not sure if we helped or not, but it was fun!

John, thanks for your concern. Actually, last night was super-helpful to me. I love the broad spectrum of reading styles and criticism. Last night's table was a banquette. I'm still digesting.

I enjoyed the comments of all. Now to sift through and see what is most useful. But I asked if I should put the current opening later and got very clear feedback from almost everyone: Do it!

I copied out the wrong article, so I missed out on participating in the discussion. It sounded most interesting. I will look forward to your full-length work.

The room was packed, diverse opinions, energetic conversation, and good writing - glad I was there.

Some of the best feedback ever. I'm reviewing the reviews now. While I may respond later, I want to answer one of my readers. You asked if it really gets down to 40 below here. In answer, the weather archives for 1969, and some of the following years will show that the winter snap, to the East and North of Montpelier, was colder and lasted longer than I represented in my story. I added degrees of warmth and subtracted weeks of frigidity, for fear that the the truth would challenge the credibility of other aspects of the tale. And in response to opinion that the piece would be more, or less, um, interesting, as memoir, I will say that it would require only the change of a few words, dates and tenses to transpose the piece from fiction to memoir - but in order to do that, I would need prior and post chapters to take it out of the context of onstage monologue. Hmmmm. ?

I, too, got off the waiting list too late to do the reading. Great work last night, though! Thanks to Monday's writers.

Got off the waiting list too late to have time to do the reading, unfortunately. Hope to see you all soon!

Two things: 1) For some reason I'm not on the list of those attending on the 11th even though my work is to be reviewed. 2) I uploaded my piece and it shows up on the list through Firefox browser but not through InternetExplorer. Hmm. Could it be because I signed in to BWW through FF but not IE?

Hi Spencer! You can attend this meeting if your work is going to be reviewed. And you are probably correct about the browsers. You must be logged in for each browser to see all the files.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
