What do you do?
We meet once each week to discuss the writing of the members of the Burlington Writers Group.
Who can join?
Anyone, though we prefer 18+ because our writing is often not suitable for children. (!!)
What kind of writing is welcome?
Any kind of prose and poetry is welcome. Screen- and stage-plays are great, too.
How do I get feedback for my work?
You may receive a critique from the group after you have participated in one meeting, which means that you must offer someone else feedback before you can expect any yourself.
Where do you meet?
Usually at a cafe in downtown Burlington--please log onto Meetup and join the group to find out.
How much does it cost?
Contributions to the organizer are voluntary. It does cost roughly $12/month to keep the meetup.com presence. Divided over the many members of this group, the cost is very low.
Where do I find the reading materials for the next meeting?
In the "Files" section. Look for most recent two stories. Writers who submit work for the group's review are usually posted by Sunday before the Wednesday meeting, so look for something appropriately dated. If you are confused, email the organizer.
How long are the meetings?
Usually they last about an hour, though if we're having fun, we can stay longer. You can leave early if you want, but we really appreciate it if you are not late.
