Let's discuss the public persona of the non-religious!

I will compile some discussion questions based on K and Eileen's points here:

Namely, what do we think the public's perception of atheists/non-religious folks is right now? Let's talk about the Skeptic worldview, and promoting that worldview locally; and inclusivity vs. exclusivity.

And we can always throw politics into the mix! Do you think the Era of Obama will mean positive change for non-believers and science?

    I can't attend the March discussion, but I wanted to contribute a thought. I'd like to see an advertising campaign called, "This is what an atheist looks like". It would simply be pictures of normal, everyday people to show that, well, we're normal, everyday people and not some kind of "Other" to be feared because we're an unknown. And maybe it could go some way to dispelling the Christian-as-default notion most of this country often seems to subscribe to. As Linda Richman says, "Discuss..."
