Andy Thomson (a member of Richard Dawkins Foundation, and a psychologist at UVA) has agreed to give a talk on Why People Believe in God(s), probably tackling the question from a psychology point of view. The talk will be on campus (room TBA) and it'll be open to anyone. I hope the Skeptics will be able to attend!

The talk will be at the mechanical engineering building (MEC) room 341. Here's a map: http://www.virginia.edu/web.... There are parking lots off of Stadium Rd. and on the other side of McCormick Rd. from the engineering buildings. Might want to come early because parking is hard to find. - Dee

    •  If you missed this lecture, try to grab an opportunity to hear Dr. Thomson speak. You can watch one of his lectures on the Richard Dawkins website www.richarddawkins.net. It is called "We few, we happy few, we band of brothers." It is about the psychology of religion as it relates to suicide bombings. Dr. Thomson is a dynamic speaker, and tonight's topic was very thought provoking. I would love to get into a small group discussion with him. Very glad I attended. Karen
