Drop in Observing at the Rothney Astrophysical Observatory

Week-night informal observing session at the University of Calgary's Rothney Astrophysical Observatory. Unlike the Saturday night open house events where there are indoor talks, if it is cloudy, there won't be any alternative programming - it's really about stargazing. Dress warmly (hats and boots).

Here's how to find the place, and other useful info:

It was a gorgeous clear sky. Thanks to Roland for helping to lock the scope to view the PANSTARR comet which was the best event of the night for me...good crowd...a great night to watch the stars and learn from the experts. Thanks to all those who shared their knowledge.

Surprisely, many public show up!! I believe warm weather helped a lot!! Enjoyed a lot, although I was not that big help to explain about the stars..... Well, I guess I 'll learn eventually! :-)

If it's clear, we may be able to see Comet PanSTARRS from about 8:15 - 9:00 (times are approximate).

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
