Troy Jaggard, a panelist on the WordCamp Calgary business panel, will be presenting technical topics associated with setting up a WordPress design and/or development business. He'll discuss:
- The benefits of developing on a local server in a WAMP/MAMP environment,
- The process of transferring to a live domain,
- Utilizing subdomains when creating sites for clients,
- Best practices in technical aspects of professional site creation.
Time permitting, Troy will also do a live WAMP or MAMP installation and configuration.
This talk is suited for those who have some background in WordPress design and development, but may be more of a hobbyist or infrequent freelancer. This meetup will help you to understand some of the ideal procedures if you are moving into a more professional role as a designer or developer.
You will be asked for a $1 contribution to help to offset the $144 annual dues to keep this group alive on Meetup.
