Cambridge Semantic Web Monthly Meetup

Eric Prud'hommeaux, W3C, will discuss the Linked Data Platform that is currently being standardized within the W3C to facilitate the use of semantic web technology for building applications that make use of semantic web technology and Linked Data principles.  If the audience is feeling brave and all seatbelts are fastened, the presentation will culminate in a heart-stopping, jaw-dropping, eye-popping live demo of test_LDP, which -- if all goes well -- will report no errors!  Will it succeed?  Come on Tuesday and find out!

It seems important to note that neither the "Linked Data Platform (LDP)" nor last night's presentation represent the totality of the "Linked Data space". LDP supports a small fraction of Linked Data's functionality and possibility, simplified and structured (in the words of our presenter) "for REST-heads who don't want to become SPARQL-heads."

Many SPARQL-phobes remain, sad but true.

Great stuff. Knowledgeable presenter, equally impressive audience. Dedicated folks in it for the long haul, not just following the next fad.

It was a good review of the Linked Data space.
