From: Ted S.

Hello all,

I just inadvertently sent the announcement for July's Cambridge Semantic Web Meetup out under the guise of August's Meetup. Please ignore that! Very sorry for the inconvenience.

We are on for:

Tuesday, July 08, 2014
6:00 PM

MIT Stata Center - Star Room
32 Vassar Street
Star Room on 4th Floor
Cambridge, MA 02139

Big Unsupervised Learning (AKA “are you going to the store for milk?”)

Jeff Catlin, CEO Lexalytics, Inc.

Jeff will provide a baseline of current text mining technologies and then talk about how Lexalytics is leveraging billions of words of text to understand whether someone means that they’re going to “the store to get milk” or they’re going to the “milk store”. These “chunking" problems lie at the heart of improving accuracy in machine understanding of language and are the topic of a lot of very interesting research.

Jeff Catlin is the CEO of Lexalytics, Inc. Lexalytics is a leading vendor of text mining technology, providing the most popular engine for media monitoring and voice of customer applications. Lexalytics was the first to ship a sentiment analysis engine in 2004, and is now used all around the world to the tune of over three billion documents per day.
