Every 2nd Friday, Carrboro has an art walk that can be habit-forming. It's not just art or walking, but ambling into and out of places that have something amusing and entertaining to offer and often includes light refreshments and adult beverages. The variety of venues makes for a lot of fun. Places are dotted along the path from Carrboro Century Center up to the Ackland, which is often open late and serving wine on this night, and then back down Main Street. Look for exhibits in a lawyer's office, a high-end toy shop, a pottery shop, the Arts Center and other galleries to find what makes this area such an art community.
If you're running late, and miss us outside the Station/Southern Rail, we head to the ArtsCenter first for maps after we meet, then begin to hit up the various other art venues from there.
We'll loop up as far as Main Street Gallery, or the Ackland if we are feeling energetic, and then loop back to return at 9. Any place along the way, those who need to go can turn around. http://2ndfridayartwalk.com/
Gail will be hosting this event. She will be meeting folks at the bench at 6pm
