Armed Services Blood Drive

The next Armed Services Blood Drive is a month away. It will be held
on Saturday, March 3rd, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the U.S. Army
Reserve Center, 165 N. Yearling Road, next to DSCC. This drive is
proudly being sponsored by the Ohio Past Detachment Commanders of the
Sons of the American Legion, and hosted by the U.S. Army Reserve. The
blood will be collected by the Armed Services Blood Program (ASBP),
the military's exclusive blood collection agency, goes exclusively to
military personnel, including a good portion to help save the lives of
American forces deployed in Afghanistan.

This is one of the few blood drives for the Armed Forces in the
country that is open to the public. Come in and donate for our Armed
Forces.

All blood collected will be immediately processed, and then most will
be flown directly from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base by priority
overseas and in theatre within a week. You cannot ask for a better,
more direct way to support our troops.

For eligibility information (including not having donated since
January 5th), please see the Armed Services Blood Program webpage at
http://www.militaryblood.dod.mil/Donors/can_i_donate.aspx

Food and refreshments will be provided, including food such as warm
sandwiches, coney islands, baked beans, chips, pretzels, donuts,
cookies, cakes, and other snacks. Drinks will include water, Gatorade,
juice and juice drinks, pop, and coffee. The AmVets and American
Legion volunteers will be providing the food and drinks. Tentative
date for the next blood drive is probably mid-February (to be
sponsored by the 12th District Sons of the American Legion).

While walk-ins are accepted, donors are encouraged to pre-register for
an appointment at https://www.militarydonor.com/index.cfm (This gives
us an idea of how many to expect, and saves YOU time in the donation
process). Donors can search for this blood drive by zip code (43213)
to register.

This Spring, please help give a fellow serviceman or servicewoman a
chance to live. Give a life-saving gift that literally comes from the
heart. For more information, please contact Peter Margaritis, blood
drive chairman, (614) 395-0387.

You've seen the TV. Our forces overseas are heavily engaged in combat
operations. Please, give a wounded serviceman or servicewoman a great
gift -- a gift that literally comes from your heart.

Thanks.

As always, the people were helpful, friendly and kept everything moving. The refreshments provided were delicious and it was nice to speak with friends and family of those serving to protect us.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
