We are a writer's group dedicated to helping our colleagues polish and publish. Please join us if writing is your passion, your thing, or your raison de vivre. We are egalitarian; our writers may be in varied stages of development, but were all beginners at one time. All that we will expect of you as a member is a sincere effort to grow as a writer, and to do your best to provide honest, yet kind, reviews. At our meetups we'll get down to some real in-depth critiquing, and discussions. If you've never critiqued or been critiqued we will guide you. Our group will review any sort of work, fiction or non-fiction.
In the case of submissions that are overtly political, religious, or otherwise controversial, we will attempt to give unbiased feedback on the quality of writing and how well the work achieves its intended purpose or effect. However, if a submission is so disturbing to a member that it impairs the ability to offer a balanced review, that person should recuse his/herself. Blatant hate directed at a particular group is discouraged because it may create a climate that is anathema to the congenial interaction of our writers. The workshops are intended to provide a positive experience and to nurture our writing talents
Please review your work for grammar and spelling accuracy before submission. If you submit work it WILL be critiqued, so there is an expectation of quid pro quo, even if you do not physically attend the meetup. Note: Some work submitted may be intended for mature readers, so if you are under 18 years of age we request that you obtain permission from a parent/guardian before you participate. See you at our next workshop!
