Hello foodies! Many of you expressed interest awhile back in fixing a meal to take the Ronald McDonald House downtown. I have a couple of dates for you to consider - dates were given to us by the House.
July 16 is a Friday and that might be a nice night to take a meal in.
Another consideration is to make our July meetup a meal we take to the House on July 25, our normal meetup day.
I'd like to get everyone's input as soon as possible so we can plan something. If you're interested in doing this, please let me know which night works best for you. Majority decides.
This is a great opportunity to give to others and show off your culinary skills at the same time! Once we decide on a date, then I'll post a menu and you can sign up for items to bring.
I look forward to hearing from those of you interested in participating! Have a great Fourth!
Do you love to cook, finding and sharing new recipes? The purpose of this meetup is to give foodies the opportunity to share a love of cooking with others while meeting new friends and having some fun!
Whether sharing appetizers and drinks while a live piano/violin duo performs, sampling ethnic delights, or celebrating the 150th Anniversary of the first Memorial Day, in the park where it all began, the goal is to bring together great food, and fun people.
Take a moment to read below so you will know how our group functions, and to understand the two things that we expect from our members. Our events are mostly held in the private homes of our volunteer hosts.
First, if you RSVP that you will attend, and can't, modify your RSVP to no, several days in advance of the function date. This consideration will allow our volunteer hosts to better plan, and for other members (who are wait-listed) to attend in your stead. Yes, things come up and life interferes. Just do your best.
Second, we ask that you upload a facial photo of yourself, when joining our group. Our host volunteers are trusting, and welcome us into their private homes. This personal image policy is for the security of all our members, including the volunteer hosts. (Unless you look like a tree, a tranquil beach, or a plate of food, don’t use these as your personal image.)
P.S. - Our members are amazing, kind and considerate people, to whom I apologize that stating the above is even necessary. Those who fail to show consideration on the above two fronts, may be deleted without notice, explanation or apology.
