*Time: 6-7 pm
*Dates: 12 Mondays: Sep. 23, Sep 30, Oct 7, Oct 14, Oct 21, Oct 28, Nov 4, Nov 11, Nov 18, NO CLASS NOV 25 (Thanksgiving week), Dec 2, Dec 9, Dec 16
*This class is good for: Absolute beginners; people who studied Italian a long time ago and need a refresher. It’s especially good for students who learn best by learning rules first, and then applying them. For students who learn better by speaking and not by traditional language study, check out the Divertente 1 course instead. NOTE: This is a great foundation for people who want to go on and study Italian. If what you're looking for is a course focusing only on the Italian you'll need to survive on your next trip to Italy, check out the Essential Travel Italian course instead. No prerequisite required, but Pronunciation & Intro to the Italian language is a good class to take beforehand.
*Description of class: This class requires some work – we will cover a lot in 12 weeks! Each week you’ll have vocabulary, dialogues, crosswords, and lessons. Topics covered: the alphabet, greetings, “to be” and “to have” and other common verbs in present tense, how nouns and adjectives, articles, plurals work, numbers, and more.
*Homework: You will be expected to memorize the vocabulary each week and to complete the exercises.
*Price: $80 for 12 weeks ($70 for cardholders), due at the first class you attend by cash or check (note that checks will not be cashed until after the 2nd class, after you’ve decided that you want to continue).
*Materials needed before class starts: We will use the binder from Chuck. You will be sent a PDF before class starts, which you can print out before class each week. You’ll also receive an audio CD. You have the option of buying a binder already printed out for $50.
*NOTE ABOUT REGISTRATION: The minimum number of students for this class is 3. If fewer than 3 people sign up, this class will not go forward. Thanks for understanding. (Contact Erin about tutoring with Gian Paolo if you're interested in that option.)
