*Please join us for the first class Sep 24th, or the second class Oct 1st. After this class, please wait to start the next class from the beginning (and please contact me!). Grazie.*
*Time: 8-9 pm
*Dates: 6 or 12 Tuesdays: Sep. 24, Oct 1, Oct 8, Oct 15, Oct 22, Oct 29, Nov 5, Nov 12, Nov 19, NO CLASS NOV 26 (Thanksgiving week), Dec 3, Dec 10, Dec 17
*This class is good for: Intermediate students who want to challenge themselves and improve their comprehension.
*Description of class: In this class you'll improve comprehension as well as pronunciation. In class, students will take turns reading paragraphs aloud, then we'll go back to the start and translate sentence by sentence. This is an opportunity to see what you've learned (vocabulary, grammar elements, and verbs) in context and to try to understand the nuances of everyday language usage. The structure of this course is that each class period is self-contained, meaning you read something new each time and it's not a continuing story.
*Homework: No homework will be given but it’s recommended that you read the assigned chapter(s) before class and look up vocabulary you don’t know.
*Price: $40 for all 6 weeks, or $80 for 12 weeks ($70 for cardholders), due at the first class you attend by cash or check (note that checks will not be cashed until after the 2nd class, after you’ve decided that you want to continue).
*Materials needed before class starts: We're using a book called "Read & Think Italian" which you can find on Amazon at http://tinyurl.com/b8k4v54. This is a wonderful book made up of about 100 articles on various aspects of Italian culture, and even has an accompanying CD. Because of how much material is in here, this book will be used for future Reading & Comprehension courses.
*NOTE ABOUT REGISTRATION: The minimum number of students for this class is 3. If fewer than 3 people sign up, this class will not go forward. Thanks for understanding.
