Ciao a tutti,
Fall 2012 Workshops are open for registration and more!
1. Workshops! –
a. Registration is now open for Fall Workshops and here is how it is going thus far:
i. The one day pronunciation workshop scheduled for this Sunday does not yet have enough students; in the event that there is not enough interest we will be canceling this workshop and notifying everybody. We will make a decision by Friday of this week. more info and RSVP at http://www.meetup.com/The-Charleston-Italian-Language-Meetup/events/77426512/
ii. Without a doubt we will be having the classes at Bacco as scheduled as they are already 60% and 70% full! Get all of the details at http://iltavoloitaliano.com/GroupNews/ towards the bottom of the page. If you are interested in these you may want to RSVP soon!
iii. Currently it looks as if 2 of the 3 classes scheduled for Tuscan Bistro will go forward, it all depends on if we get adequate enrollment. We will be making a decision on having these classes next Wednesday. Get all of the details at http://iltavoloitaliano.com/GroupNews/ towards the bottom of the page.
iv. It also currently it looks as if 2 of the 3 classes scheduled for Osteria la Bottiglia will go forward, it all depends on if we get adequate enrollment. We will be making a decision on having these classes next Wednesday. Get all of the details at http://iltavoloitaliano.com/GroupNews/ towards the bottom of the page.
v. It is important to note that if you are thinking about taking a workshop, you will want to sign up before Monday if at all possible as I will be sending out study assignments and information on where to find class materials this coming Monday. Also I do want to thank everybody who has signed up so far. We have over reserved over 40 seats in the first six days of registration. I greatly appreciate your support and encouragement! You are an incredible group of people
b. I also wanted to let you know that in September we will be starting an “Italian Conversation Meeting” on Saturday mornings where we will be gathering to practice actually conversing in Italian. This will not be a grammar or vocabulary class but instead a conversational exercise. I and others will be present to help you to the degree that you desire to be helped! I am excited about this. We are going to start with a very limited attendance so stay tuned for future news about this!
2. Social Events! Wow! The social events have been seriously through the roof lately, lot’s of fun, still a minority but a growing amount of Italian conversation and attendance has been breaking records and this has been during the summer which is our slowest time of year. We still have a lot of great events coming up but some are filling up fast! You can find that at http://iltavoloitaliano.com/GroupNews/ . For example the next three are;
a. Una sera con Mike Aroney – more info and RSVP at http://www.meetup.com/The-Charleston-Italian-Language-Meetup/events/66269512/
b. Una festa nella piscine … - More info and RSVP at http://www.meetup.com/The-Charleston-Italian-Language-Meetup/events/75172412/
c. Let's go welcome our first Downtown Charleston Sponsor! - more info and RSVP at http://www.meetup.com/The-Charleston-Italian-Language-Meetup/events/74672022/
d. And more found at http://iltavoloitaliano.com/GroupNews/ (3 of which are already booked and 2 more aren’t far behind) Events include a pool party, dinners, a wine tasting, cooking classes, an Italian movie and more.
e. We are still looking for host homes for social events sometime during the weekends of November 17th and December 1st. If you would like to host an event, please email me and thank you so much in advance for your help!
Reminder – You don’t need to be able to speak Italian to participate in the social events unless they are “total immersion” events.
Additionally, we have had an increased interest in the annual membership card. You can read all about this card and how it can save you money at http://iltavoloitaliano.com/membership_card/ , Once again, thank you for your support.
And finally, would you like to start using “in context” what you have been learning in class? What better place than on our Il Tavolo Italiano Facebook page. Check it out and write something in Italian at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Il-Tavolo-Italiano/112273928840383 Challenge yourself, challenge us! Not to mention we now have several followers in Italy. Come make some Italian friends!
