We’ve got some new things scheduled, so sign up for some events below!
The Gnocchi-making workshop at Bacco this Sunday has been postponed. Tracy & Michael thought it would be best to hold it another time when more people were available. Keep an eye out for that new date. Instead, let’s try out Indaco (downtown) Sunday evening at 7:30.This is a last-minute scheduled event so it will be informal. Be sure to RSVP for this event so I know whether there’s interest. (Thanks for the suggestion, Cindy!)
Come eat pizza at DeSano downtown, Friday, April 11th at 6:30 pm. This place serves *delicious* Neapolitan-style pizza. Join us for our first meal there as a group and experience a little bit of the old country here in the Lowcountry! RSVP here.
Then come to an all-Italian wine tasting Thursday, April 17th from 6-7 at How Art Thou Café in James Island. It’s just $10, and glasses and bottles are on special after the tasting. David of HAT will be selecting Italian wines just for us! RSVP here.
Directly following that, join us for the first Wine & Talk from 7-8 at How Art Thou. This is a chance to drop in, get something to drink, and practice the Italian you know – no matter what your speaking level is. People have asked for more chances to practice their Italian – this is it! Please join us. RSVP here.
Come to Brian & Cindy’s for “Gnocchi Gnite” (aka “Gnocchi Gnotte”) Saturday, April 19th at 5 pm. Cindy is a great cook and will show us how to make gnocchi according to a family recipe, and we’ll try the gnocchi with different sauces plus bread and wine. If you come, bring an antipasto dish or dessert if you like. If the weather’s nice we can enjoy the fantastic wraparound deck and beautiful outdoors. They live outside of Summerville. This will be a lot of fun – RSVP today.
Of course, the 2nd annual Italian Festival will be held April 26th in Azalea Park, Summerville. You don’t want to miss it!
Our second Wine & Talk will be at The Wine Bar in Mt Pleasant on Thursday, May 15th from 6-8. This wine bar – formerly called Uncorked – has wine, beer, chocolate, and other small plates. We may or may not have a wine tasting – I will give more details closer to the time. Otherwise, feel free to drop in after work for 20 minutes or 2 hours. It’s up to you. It’s a chance to speak Italian in a very supportive environment. RSVP here.
