The Charleston Permaculture Guild and Lowcountry Local First are co-hosting a hands-on mushroom cultivation workshop. Workshop facilitators, Vaughan Spearman from Halve Ewe Herd and Lindsay Zellner from High Tide Organics, will talk about how to use logs to grow edible mushrooms, show us different kinds of mushrooms such as oysters and shiitakes, and talk about how to use both bulk sawdust spawn and plug spawn.
Workshop attendance is free, but please RSVP.
Early registrants were able to order materials for doing hands-on work during the class. We had to submit our order for spawn, so hands-on registrations are no longer being taken, but you can still come to attend the event and learn.
You can call me (Chris) at[masked] if you have trouble finding the place, but basically if you're coming from Charleston on Betsy Kerrison, make a U-turn at Chez Fish and then an immediate right into the driveway on the east side of Betsy Kerrison. There will be a sign for Dirt Works.
