Open Water Sea Kayak Training with Nigel Dennis and Dale Williams!
April 22-24, 2013
Hosted by Sea Kayak Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina
Tuition:  Only $350 for all 3 days.* Only $300 for Meetup members!

Join Nigel Dennis and Dale Williams, two of the world's top open-water sea kayak coaches/instructors for 3 days of focused open-water sea kayak training and development.  This clinic is designed to take folks with some open-water skills and put them on the fast-track.  Topics may include:

  • Surf launch and landing
  • Open-water rescues
  • Navigation
  • Open-water towing
  • Risk management / Incident management
  • Sea kayak surfing
  • Tidal current skills
  • And much, much more!

The clinic is open for just about anyone with some minimum experience in open-water.  Prerequisite skills should include comfortable wet exits, some experience launching, landing and bracing in surf.  A roll is helpful but not required.  Sea Kayak Carolina is offering classes and training opportunities in March and April if you want to tune-up and be ready for the clinic.

The 3-day clinic is open for anyone looking to put their open-water skills on the fast track. The clinic can serve as American Canoe Association Coastal Kayak Level 4 personal skills instruction and assessment for those interested in the assessment component.  Although this is not a sanctioned British Canoe Union course, it is perfect training for folks considering future BCU 4 Star Assessment.

*Tuition includes the use of high-performance sea kayaks and gear for participants not bringing their own.

Please contact Sea Kayak Carolina at[masked] if you have any question or to register for the program.  This open-water training clinic begins the Monday after the East Coast Paddlesports and Outdoor Festival - consider combining your visit to Charleston to take it all in!  Charleston is ideally suited for this clinic with open ocean, inlets, tidal currents, a dynamic harbor environment and the full support of the staff and resources of Sea Kayak Carolina.

10 students maximum.  The clinic is sure to fill up, so please call today to ensure your spot.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
