Botany Bay & Deveaux Bank

Join the Charleston Sea Kayaking Meetup Group for a kayak trip to the beautiful shelling beaches of Botany Bay and Deveaux Bank.

Shorebirds and Atlantic Bottlenosed Dolphin are often sighted… and paddlers always have a great time.

We will meet at the Cherry Point Landing around 10:30 am and launch no later than 11:00. (Van will be leaving Sea Kayak Carolina promptly at 9:30 am if you want a ride... some seats and trailer space available.  Please call the shop to confirm if you would like to try to hitch a ride.) Based upon conditions, we may choose one destination or both!  The adventurous and experienced among us can paddle around Deveaux and play in the surf (please bring your helmet).

You will require your own equipment (kayak, paddle, PFD).  Your kayak should be at least 15' in length   Bring drinking water and snacks/lunch as we'll have some beach time before returning with the incoming tide.  Our estimated return to the launch is 3:30 p.m.
