Tidal Currents in Sea Kayaks!

Join the instructors from Sea Kayak Carolina:  on-water, introduction to tidal currents in sea  kayaks!

Learn ferry glides, eddy turns, peel-outs and more.  Meet at the shop, launch from the Elliot Cut boat ramp where we will experience current of up to 5 knots.  Not for brand new paddlers, students should have some rescue skills and be proficient in their strokes and maneuvers.

Class is limited to 6 students -- call today at[masked] to register. Only $45 for Meetup members includes kayak and gear as needed.

Check here for a 2 minute video of tidal current play at Elliot Cut.

Excellent class. This was my first class with Scott and I think he ranks up there with the very best teachers anywhere. His descriptions of the key points and what we were doing with each exercise were very clear and concise. He addressed the needs of each individual in the class, according to what was needed and did not force anyone to do anything they were not comfortable with, but at the same time challenged most of us. The more experienced paddlers also gave great advice to those of us new to tidal currents. The group cohesion was good from the start and throughout the class. Everyone was very nice and helpful--what a nice and fun group of paddlers. Thank all of you so very much.

A really great class. Essential excellent training for challenging "tidal race-like" conditions. Thanks Scott, Don and Paul!
