Girls on the Edge

Come join Instructor Fern White to explore and develop a comfort to 'edge' your kayak and increase efficiency (aka - do less work) in your strokes and maneuvers, and have FUN! Balance and control is the goal.  This is a women's only class; limited to six registered participants.

Be prepared to get wet - the water is warm! Bring water for hydration and snacks, sunscreen, hat, and attitude!

Our practice will be held at the calm lake waters of Trophy Lakes on Johns Island. Only $45 for Charleston Sea Kayaking Meetup members.

Please contact the shop at[masked] to register. Kayaks and gear provided as needed.

PS - Did I say this is FUN?

What students had to say about the last Girls on the Edge:

"Fern did a great job covering a lot of information! I also enjoyed meeting the other students and look forward to seeing them again soon." -Lynn

"I had a blast! What an awesome group of women warriors getting edgy and having fun!!"  -Fern W.

"I had a great time and learned a lot while I was having it!!! Thanks to our instructor and all the other girls in the class!!" -Debbie W.

"Thought this might be a fun way to spend a Sunday morning, and how right I was! A great group of women (and a great instructor) teetered on and sometimes went over the edge to laugh and to learn a host of balancing skills which will serve us well for a long time. Thanks to all for a fantastic morning." -Fran S.

"Wonderfully supportive instructor & group." -Debbie F.

YES! It is on! See you at Trophy Lake. I will be leaving SKC by 8:30 a.m. but coming from Beaufort, it is faster for you to go directly to TL - Mary will be there as well. (3050 Marlin Rd, Johns Island, SC)
