Visit a Plantation or Two?

Meet at the boat landing at 9:30 and get ready for a 10:00 launch.  The landing will be busy, so perhaps arrive early, but definitely bring your patience with you.

We will paddle up the Ashley as far as we get and perhaps see a planation or two from the river, find a place to eat lunch (so bring a lunch with you), and when ready, return to the landing.

All paddlers, all boats welcome on this trip.

This is a MeetUp and you are responsible for your own safety.  However PFD's must be fitted properly and worn at all times.

National Weather Service Forecast here.

Coastal Waters Forecast here.

Sue, when you get a chance, please figure mileage for this trip. I figured 13 miles via Google Earth but I'm not sure of our upper reach point? Thanks!

I use to calculate distance. We paddled 12 miles! Good job, folks. No wonder we were tired.

Thank you. I use that for my runs. Never thought about taking it to the water. Clever.

I just flew in from London, and boy are my arms tired (insert snare drum and cymbal ). Not really, but I did kayak about ten miles, and my poor arms were SORE. For some reason, I kept having the words "horse muscle relaxers" flashing in the back of my mind. I would like to thank Sue for the "help" on the way back. Luckily I see no photos of that, LOL.
It was nice meeing you folks.

I was glad to see the pair of dolphins, and it was cool we were close enough to hear them breathe.

I may have to back out. I did something to my right shoulder/neck/trap area last Sunday (Scoop rescue or Hand of God, not sure which). It's doing loads better, but giving it another week of rest might be the better option, before Incident Management.

Is this trip appropriate for beginners?

Yes, Greg. Should be a nice calm paddle.
