Wilderness First Responder

Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission and Wilderness Medical Associates are offering a Wilderness First Responder Courses for any individual who enjoy the outdoors and like to be prepared to help others and themselves in a medical emergency. Many organizations require it as part of their job qualifications. It includes all topics covered in the WAFA plus numerous additional topics, case studies, patient assessment drills, and a final simulation. The course is recommended for outdoor professionals as well as outdoor enthusiasts who lead adventure trips and those who are in the backcountry for days or weeks and may have to care for a patient for days.

- Cottages –The cottages are completely furnished and equipped with cooking utensils, flatware, dishes, bed linens, blankets, and bath towels, as well as satellite television, wireless internet, and telephone service. Cottage availability not is guaranteed.
- Primitive camping is also available
