Hey everyone -
As you know, it costs nothing to be a member of the Charlotte Geeks - and it never will. That being said, we ask that those who can afford it please pay our $5 voluntary annual dues.
What does my $5 pay for?
What doesn't my $5 pay for?
Profits. We are a 100% not-for-profit association - any money we have left over goes directly towards our charitable efforts.
All combined, it costs over $5,000 to run the group each year. With your help, we are able to defray some of these costs. In fact, at our current membership of 750 members, if everyone was able to chip in their annual dues, we would be able to cover $3,750 of that cost - leaving that much more for charity.
How can I pay my $5?
What if I can't pay? or don't wanna pay?
That's okay. Like I said at the beginning, these are voluntary dues. Any amount that you can help with would be greatly appreciated.
What if I want to pay more than $5?
That's okay too! There is a donation section on the Geek Mart. Any amount above the $5 will go towards our charitable efforts. This time of year, it means that it will go towards funding our Geek Gala so we can donate more to Childrens Home Society of NC.
Are you done yet?
Yup, I'm done. Thanks for your time!
