From the Back of the Line: Premiere Screening

UNC Charlotte's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the Latin American Coalition and Haberdashery Films are proud to present "From the Back of the Line," a documentary film exploring the impact of immigration policies on mixed-immigration status families living and working in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The film is produced by Armando Bellmas and Hannah Levinson and directed by Toby Shearer.

"From the Back of the Line" shares the voices and stories of mixed-status immigrant families through personal interviews, giving a glimpse inside the lives of Charlotte residents struggling to navigate the gaps in the current U.S. immigration system. The film aims to cultivate a better American landscape through diversity and build a greater depth of understanding within the Charlotte community.

The filmmakers will introduce the documentary prior to the screening. A Q & A with the filmmakers and individuals whose stories are featured will follow and a reception will take place in the second-story atrium of UNC Charlotte Center City. Food from Hawthorne's Pizza and Bar will be provided. The event is free and open to the public.
