Monthly Meeting & Potluck: Permaculture Garden in Elgin

Take a walk on the wild side!
A stroll through Sandy Kaptain's yard.
Want to see what controlled chaos landscaping can do for you? Join us on June 14th for a meeting, stroll, and potluck. We'll start the morning at 10:00am at the Evangelical Covenant Church where we'll do our food pick ups, a little sharing, a little eating our nutrient dense potluck treats, and a little announcing. Afterwards, we'll convene at Sandy's home on Scott Drive, where we'll be taking a tour of some lovely Permaculture. Come see what ground covers along with perennials can do to decrease your time working in the garden and behind your lawn mower. You can then spend more time enjoying the birds and the bees. Grass is the least exciting thing to grow in your yard and almost good for no one - not animals nor for flood control. Let's explore alternatives!

Sorry, I have to back out from this. I didn't realize that the Aurora Green Fest is that day as well, and I'll be going there. If Elgin were closer and I didn't mind trying to cram 2 things into one day, I would do both. But I am consciously trying to lead a slower and less frenzied life. I'll be joining you in the future.
BTW, I found your explanation a bit confusing: Could you explain what you mean by "where we'll do our food pick ups . . . a little eating our nutrient dense potluck treats." What food are you picking up? And who makes the nutrient dense potluck treats (to eat at 10:00 am)?
(so I'll know what you mean in the future)

Meadow Haven Farm is in the parking lot at the same time as our meeting. Many people buy from them every month. We always have a nutrient dense potluck lunch (brunch in this case). The format is different for this meeting because we are visiting a local garden.
