Chicago South WAPF - Healing with Foods: GAPS

Healing with Foods: Overview of the GAPS Protocol

Presented by Renee Renz, Certified GAPS™ Practitioner

GAPS™ or Gut and Psychology/Physiology Syndrome, created by Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride, establishes the connection between the health of the digestive system and the functioning of the brain and other body systems. The GAPS™ Protocol "heals and seals" the intestinal tract and supports our body's natural immune and detoxification systems, leading to recovery from chronic illnesses such as autoimmune issues, autism, asthma/allergies, eating disorders, inflammatory bowel diseases, substance abuse, schizophrenia, and more.

The GAPS™ diet follows the key principles of Weston A. Price, but the Weston A. Price diet is not always GAPS™ legal. Individuals may initially need the GAPS™ healing protocol to overcome chronic health issues and then maintain abundant health long term by following the traditional Weston A. Price guidelines.

Come and understand the basic premise behind the GAPS™ healing protocol, which includes three main aspects: diet, supplementation, and lifestyle.

I enjoyed very much Renee's class about GAPS. It was good to see other people as interested in GAPS as I am. The class was a good review for me to reaffirm what I already have learned. Having the main points of the class on the screen was good and helpful as well. I'm looking forward to the next Meetup on GAPS.
