John Hansen spoke at our last meeting, and, my apologies, I have yet to put our my notes. He was excellent, and gave us great insights, so there will be that, too.

Thanks for the lead, but they're sold out. The only place I found is in northern Wisconsin, 5 hours away :(

Chuck Bauer of Byron Center has Nucleus hives for sale from 6 year Michigan Survior stock with other hardy stock bred in. Nucs are $125, or $115 if you return the box. He also has some 8 frame fully populated deeps for $150. All have laying queens and brood. Contact Chuck at: [masked] or [masked]. Chuck will be at the June 12th meeting.

John Hansen was with us again last night. I hope he becomes a monthly attendee! With 35 years of experience, he provides us with information and calm. Many of us have one very slow growing hive, while the other is booming. We discussed whether to requeen or let the bees raise their own, and decided the latter might be better. Look at brood pattern; it should be tight at this time, another good way to judge your queen. There was lots more, for wanna beeks and those of us who are beeks, both.
What a helpful meeting and what a great group of people we are!

My first time at the meeting, hoping to learn best way to match beekeepers with commercial builldings that are willing to offer their roofs.

I can't make it but hope the meet up is great!
I'm looking forward to it--and I'd like a minute to talk about the situation I'm having with the Village of Skokie regarding my bees.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
