My almost-four-year-old told me yesterday that when he grows up he wanted to be a construction worker so he could "build a ginormous building and a skyscraper and architecture so that it could hold LOTS of people and they would look at it and say 'wow that's amazing!'" So something tells me Engineers Week at the Chicago Architectire Foundation will be right up his alley. Families are welcome! My husband and I will be there with Judah and the baby! We might grab lunch somewhere downtown afterwards.

Sunday, February 16, 2014 Engineers Week Celebration: Engineer This! Build That!

Join us at multiple locations at our home in the historic Railway Exchange Building for a day-long program to celebrate National Engineers Week. Hands-on activities, LEGO builds and presentations are designed to help families discover what engineers do, have fun building, constructing and solving engineering challenges.

This drop-in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) program is designed to engage students 5-13 and their adult companions.

TIME: 11:00am - 3:00pm COST: FREE LOCATION: Arcelor Mittal Design Studio @ CAF, Lecture Hall and Morse, 224 S. Michigan Ave

Please honor your RSVP and update in a timely manner if plans change. Cross posted to Chicago SAHM.

My little girl has a fever today, so I'm not sure if we can make it tomorrow. I'm changing RSVP to no...but if she gets better, we'll come look for all of you! (she's little for this event, but it looks so neat to mama! and I would love to meet all everyone.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
