CANCELED DUE TO WEATHER [Break-out session (after Meet and Greet)]

Call or email if you have questions.
I'll contact all of you tomorrow with a new date.

Take care,
Jim Goulding

Hi Everyone,
The next Chicago Cisco CCNA Meetup is Thursday, April 18th, 2013, 6:30p – 8:30p

The question was posed at our last meeting (Meet and Greet):
"Why are you here/What do you need from this group?"

As many as 70% wanted a study session for the CCNA exam.
ANSWERS: Go to Skyline's web site and see what they have to offer for your precise need

Talk to Dave Falco ([masked]) about reduced price if your company can't pay for it. Or, talk to Dave about signing up if your company can pay for it.

Boot-camps are great. I speak from experience. That's how I passed my CCNA. Skyline was given a very nice plug from one of our CCIE's at our meeting. He stated that they are very good at what they do.

Before you choose to study for the CCNA and have study sessions, you have to choose your method. Are you going the way of SELF-STUDY? If so, what books are you using? Once they're purchased, we can have that break-out study session and you can set up meetings outside of our bigger meetings too, if you want.

We've had the following requests for specific topics:
1. ASA
2. Subnetting
3. Switching basics
4. Routing Protocols
5. Cisco speakers
6. Lab equip time
7. GN3
8. Packet tracer
9. CCNP basic info certification
10. To learn
11. Testing tips, building skills

Proposal for this meeting which I'll call "Break-out Sessions"
1. Study group for CCNA: firm-up how you're going to proceed
a. Through Skyline?
b. Self Study?
c. Will you have study sessions at another site when we aren't doing "Meetups?"
d. Etc
2. Subnetting break-out class
a. I volunteer to teach my method for 20 minutes.
b. Someone else volunteer to teach their method, for 20 min, too.
c. Leave 20 minutes for questions and practice
3. Send me emails with ideas for a third break out session if you're not interested in the 2 above and I'll set-up a 3rd session with the "hot-topic" you guys pick.
4. If anyone wants to do something else, say so. I take no offense.

Thank you,
Jim Goulding

I'll be out of town for work doing a new network install. I'll be there if the dates for the site roll-out change (again) though!
