Leibniz' Defense of Copernicus - Live Reading and Discussion

In the Essay we will read, Leibniz writes in an effort to remove the censorship the church had placed on the theories of Copernicus regarding the heliocentric model of the solar system.  In the essay we will encounter much of Leibniz' impression of how we should understand religious thought in relation to scientific and even poetic thought.

    Went to the library looking for the crazy Copernicus thing, but failed. But I did discover that both Dewey and Russell wrote whole books of essays on Leibniz, neither of which book had I heard of before...

      There are little Leibnizian bits (sometimes explicit allusions) all over the Tractatus, and in W's later remarks on that work.
