Aquinas series

*This class series is part of the Newberry’s Adult Education Seminars Program.* Led by Thomas Zebrowski

Thomas Aquinas [masked]) is one of the greatest Christian theologians. He combined the existing tradition of Christian theology with the newly rediscovered philosophy of Aristotle in a sweeping and enduring vision of God and creation.

This seminar introduces Aquinas through selections from his colossal Summa Theologiae, highlighting the hallmarks of his natural philosophy. Topics will include: the existence and nature of God, the soul, law, the virtues, and happiness.

Please read the introduction and part 1 of Peter Kreeft’s A Summa of the Summa for the first session.

Thomas Zebrowski holds a Ph.D. in religious ethics from the University of Chicago Divinity School and a masters degree in medieval theology from the University of Oxford.

Is anyone interested in setting up an ongoing Aquinas meetup series, that doesn't require a $200 registration fee? I'd be interested in group reading/discussion of major sections of the Summa Theologica (perhaps we could use an abridged version of the text).
