Team Escape Adventure Challenge!

  • April 26, 2014 · 12:30 PM

Ever wanted to play the role of a detective in a simulated reality mystery escape game?!

Well folks, here's your chance! One of our Assistant Organizers, Mika, has participated in this game before and she said it was lots of fun! Also, another one of our frequent members, Elaine, proposed we try this out as well! She's been kind enough to help organize the event and offer rides for a few people who need them.

Let's check out one of the newest and coolest entertainment offerings in the GTA - a simulated reality mystery and escape game!  There's only a few locations in all of Canada that offer this type of fun and there's one in Richmond Hill called ESC-IT that has had rave reviews!

In 2 teams of 5 people each, we have 45 minutes to solve each mystery (two in total) and escape from the locked rooms.  The two scenarios are shown below. I've chosen the two most difficult ones, both rated 4/5 in difficulty. In order to win and escape, you'll need to draw upon your quick wit, problem solving and collaboration skills.

If you like and check-in to ESC-IT on Facebook & pay in cash, you get 40% off the regular price.  The total per person would be $30 plus tax for the two games (1.5 hrs of playing time).  10 people maximum, with a waitlist.  I've already made the room bookings so we're confirmed.

This location is in Richmond Hill (175 West Beaver Creek, Unit 14), which you can't get to by TTC. However, don't let this deter you! We will have a few drivers, so if you want to attend and need a ride, it's no trouble at all :) Just let me know and we will arrange it!

We will all meet at 12:30 PM inside the building. WE MUST BE PUNCTUAL as it's a timed game.

After we finish the game around 3 PM, we'll head somewhere nearby (i.e. Times Square) for some food, conversation and of course, language exchange :-)

This should be a very fun and mentally challenging Saturday! Let's see which team is "smarter" :P

Although none of us could escape from the rooms, our group was really close to get out (comparing to the other group).

As far as the teams, I think that because Elaine and Andrew will both have some practice from Friday night playing this kind of game, they should be on separate teams to equally share their secret strategies. We'll make Team 1: Andrew, Krysta, Jiayi, Brian and David. Team 2 will be myself, Elaine, William, Maki and Mika. I think it will be most fun for Maki and Mika if they play together on the same team.

Sounds good to me as I've never talked to them before I think. More new friends for me.

We have 5 guys and 5 ladies right now. Do you want guys vs ladies or random teams? Let's vote.

Apparently Nate is really good at these so I would love to be on the same team as him...but I am open either way :-) Since we are playing 2 rooms, maybe we can do one guys vs ladies and one random team?
