I never thought I'd be able to say this but ping-pong is actually becoming cool these days!
SPiN Night Club is a popular downtown hang out place for young professionals to have a drink, mingle, network and whack some balls at each other! It's actually part of a global chain with other locations in New York, LA and Dubai.
Many famous celebrities are casually picking up the sport these days and SPiN, along with the recent hip ping-pong trend, was recently featured on CNN:
Everyone I know that has been here LOVES this place and it is always really busy!
I've rented out their private party room from 8 to 10 PM on Friday May 16, 2014. The room capacity is 30 people maximum, so we can only admit 30 attendees into this event. There will be a waitlist for other interested members. If you have friends that aren't members of this group yet, we prefer if they join our group before attending the event. That said, you can also +2 for guests. The private party room comes with one ping pong table (4 players at a time, on a rotating basis) and comfortable seating for everyone to kick back and mingle with one another. The food and drinks here are also very well-reviewed and we will have a devoted waiter/waitress assigned to deliver our orders to our room, from the bar and restaurant. They'll play old school R&B!
There will be a $5 total admission fee per member for this event, which can be paid in cash when you arrive. I'll use the money gathered to order hors d'oeuvres for everyone to nibble on. I recommend bringing some extra money to order a drink or two. I'm tempted to try their iPunch bowl... any takers?
SPiN is essentially a night club, but there's no dress-code. Dress as you wish! Some people prefer to get dolled up. Their official "ping pong ambassador" is a South Korean fashion model who also happens to be a professional ping pong player named Sooyeon Lee (see below!)
Others have a different "ping-pong look!"
Ladies and gents, this is meant to be a laidback evening so just come out, make some new friends, mingle, chillax and let's whack a few balls together ;-)
