Restoring Shepard's Parkway - Hold the date!

Every community should enjoy walking outside their homes and seeing a glimpse of the beauty in nature.  Let's help them get that!

Shepherd Parkway is part of the Civil War Defenses of Washington including two civil war sites: Fort Greble and Fort Carroll. The remains of both earthwork fortifications can be seen today.

Shepard's Park became a part of the National Park Service in 1933 and is today a mature wooded forest with a rolling terrace gravel terrain that offers a home to a variety of wildlife.

Shepard's Parkway Committee has taken on the task to clean up the debris in the park and restore it to its natural beauty.  You can learn more about this initiative on their blog:

What to wear/bring:  Comfortable clothing that you do not mind getting dirty. Snacks and water if you need it.  I believe the tools, gloves are provided, but I will verify this.

Contact for the committee: Nathan Harrington at [masked] or[masked]

My information: [masked],[masked]

Looking forward to helping others seeing the blessing of God's natural creation!
