whitewater rafting in Ohiopyle PA. july 4th

Arrival: Friday 7/4/2014 Lower Yough 12:00 PM

I have a reservation for one boat (6 people), but we can always try to get a second boat.. This is a mashup event with stafford-single-christians meetup group. so far there are 3 going from Stafford.

ohiopyle pa, about 4 hours away.(from Stafford).   we can do it in one day or go up the night before. about $55 for rafting for 5-6 hours on the river, includes lunch. (quite a value actually).

Each person must call the tour company and pay for one seat in our boat. Use my last name and/or reservation number below. We will be on the lower Yoiugh river (class 3+ rapids).

We have to have about three people paid for by 7 May and all six paid for by 4 june or we could start losing spots and price could go up.

price per person now is $52.45.

Wilderness Voyageurs (ohiopyle, Pa,) [masked]-2387.

I'm planning to camp as well, myself and a guest. Can we join or is anyone else interested in sharing a campground? I was thinking of a group site from Scarlett Knob Campground. Let me know, so I can try to get reservations.

The problem is that only 2 sleeping units are allowed per campsite. We will have 2 already. We are camping in Kentuck Campground at site 24. You can reserve campsites online at the PA State Park website.

The weather friday is suppossed to be 78 and sunny and excellent friday. check in location for Lower Yough, Middle Yough, Rentals & Adventure activities is Wilderness Voyageurs Outfitter Store, 103 Garrett St in Ohiopyle,PA adjacent to the railroad tracks. at 12 noon.

I recommend printing directions as a back up as GPS signal can be lost in the mountains (I missed an exit once)...

recommend water shoes or tennis shoes...shoes must not come off. remember sun screen. if you use glasses I recommend a strap for them. I recommend leaving car keys with outfitter and don't bring anything on board unless you have meds...give them to the guys in the lunch boat for dry keeping.

    im getting excited....

I'm thinking about going however, I do not want to drive 4 hours up there and back. I'm not into long distance driving. I will pay for gas, tolls, etc to ride with someone.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
