1 p.m. Medicine Bag Workshop
Using hides and pelts to create beautiful and useful objects allows our bird and animal friends to continue life here in a new form. Native Americans have perfected this art that we will learn about today. Join volunteers from Ahopa - Friends of the Lakota Nation as they guide us through the creation of a simple medicine bag. This is a "no-sew" project that anyone can do! Very young children should have a parent or older child there to assist them in lacing their bag together. A variety of feathers and beads will be available to decorate your bag. Afterwards, we'll take a walk through the woods in search of treasures from mother earth that we can place in our medicine bags. A $2 donation for materials is appreciated, but not mandatory and will be given to the Ahopa charity.
2 p.m. Metaphysical Dowsing
The world is full of energy - flowing, radiating, transforming. When you can tap into that energy and understand it's many states, new possibilities open up to you! Come learn to use various techniques and tools (including your own body) for dowsing to understand the energy fields around you, detect and clear "stuck" energy, find lost items, answer questions and for other interesting and useful activities. For all experience levels.
Presenter: Cathy Kane
3 p.m. Native American Storytelling
Join us as Lori-Ann Locke shares traditional stories about how the animals got their names.
Presenter: Lori-Ann Locke
3:45 p.m. Drum Circle
Join us for this fun annual drum circle, as we drum to celebrate the harvest! Adults and children of all ages are welcome! Please bring a drum or rattle, if you have one. There will be several spare drums/rattles available to borrow. Please note, this event will take place while sitting on the grass. Please bring a blanket or chair to sit on.
4:15 p.m. Full Moon Ritual
Join us as we celebrate the Corn Moon. There will be a harvest ritual in the Eclectic Wiccan Tradition. No ritual experience necessary. All are welcome to attend.
Picnic-style food will be available throughout the day. Hot-dogs, hamburgers and veggie-burgers will be cooked from 12:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Please bring a dessert item (cake, cookies, etc.) to share.
