This meetup has regularly scheduled runs around lakes in the area, along the river, and on some local trails. Most of the lakes are about 3 miles around, but we often link them together or go around twice. The river runs and trails also offer a lot of options when it comes to distance. If you would like to suggest a new lake, river, or trail route, we're all ears! The group is intended for runners who are looking for companions on their runs; all paces, distances and levels of experience are welcome - whether you are looking to run the TC Marathon next fall or to get back into shape after not running for a few years...or if you've never run at all!
This group is completely free; once you join you will have access to the group's Calendar (where you can find scheduled group runs and outings - approx 5/wk) and Message Board (an open forum for conversations relating to running and upcoming or potential events/locations). Should you ever have questions about a particular event, feel free to email the organizer of that outing. General questions about the group can be directed toward Ananda.
Runs led by Asst Organizers with and 'easy pace' focus on runs at a 10-12 minute pace; other runs on the calendar will find paces of 9:30 and faster. If you're not sure whether you'll have company on any certain run, put a comment in your RSVP mentioning your pace, or send a quick message to the organizer of that run...chances are there is someone else with the same question!
In addition to casual runs, we will pick various races around the area to train for together as a group. Last year we also added a few camping weekends, and every now and then we have a happy hour--both are nice for getting to know others in the group. Once again, recommendations are encouraged. Hope to see you out there soon!

What members are saying
“ For runners on the Lake Harriet side of town, this is a good choice. Members are friendly and encouraging. I like the Saturday River Loop because I don't need a car to get to the location. ”
“ Runners are way too cool. ”
