Get together: Cape Cod

Hi everyone, sorry for the long delay since our last meetup. At our last (and first) meeting about eight of us got together in the South End and chatted about possibilities for this group. For this next meeting, I want to invite you all to my laboratory in Woods Hole, Cape Cod, where I work on the nervous system of squid. I thought that I would give you a tour of Woods Hole and the biology station where I spend the summer months followed by a short powerpoint lecture on my work.  Then we can talk more about what this group might do together. I'm very interested in education (being a college professor). I just signed up to teach an online course in marine ecology with a focus on coral reefs.  Although we are not in the tropics, I would like to put together a series of short YouTUBE style videos outlining ecological principles and the biology of corals and reef systems. I am in the processes of getting my (new to me) 23 foot Mako center console in the water and have the cameras ready to go. Hope you will join me on Saturday!  Joe

John, I work on squid. I thought I would fill people in on why squid are important from a scientific standpoint (powerpoint). For the tour, I plan to show you a live squid! :) Bring your camera! j

Hi Joe, I was under the impression we were moving forward with plans for some Squid photography. I haven’t received a reply to any of my eMails to you. I would like to attend (and can bring others) if we are moving forward with something. If it is just a tour and PowerPoint presentation I am not. Hope you’re doing well and we talk soon.

Sorry I am out on a kayaking trip that day. I work in WH and would be happy to join otherwise.
    Good luck.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
