Hi, Alice, et al:
I just have to respond...I'll keep it short.
I haven't read Hemingway's novels. His short stories ("A Clean Well-Lighted
Place," "The Killers," "The Snows of Kilimajaro," etc.) put him securely among
the great writers of the 20th century. Last year I had the great experience of
reading "A Moveable Feast," about his life as a writer starting out (and almost
starving) in Paris (the moveable feast, because you take it with you, the same
no matter where).
I could be convinced to read a novel by Hemingway.
